FOUNDING WATCH PROJECT / RESEARCH 001

A watch shaped by
how careful buyers buy.

The Watch Ledger started by helping people judge watches. The next chapter is learning whether we can build one with the same discipline: proportionate, serviceable, fairly priced and specific enough to deserve a place in a collection.

01 / CHOOSE THE STARTING POINT

Three honest briefs.
One future direction.

These are research lanes, not finalized specifications. Your answers determine what deserves deeper design work.

02 / YOUR FOUNDING BRIEF

Tell us where the
trade-offs should land.

We will use aggregate responses to decide whether a product deserves a design phase, which concept leads and what price ceiling cannot be crossed.

No payment information is collected. This is product research, not a reservation or offer for sale. Privacy.
03 / THE BUILD STANDARD
01PROPORTION BEFORE PRESENCE

Case diameter is only the start. Thickness, lug span, crown and bracelet taper must work together.

02SERVICE BEFORE STORYTELLING

A movement should be supportable, documented and appropriate to the price—not chosen for a marketing adjective.

03SPECIFIC, NOT DERIVATIVE

Familiar function is welcome. Borrowed identity is not. The watch needs a reason to exist beyond a logo.

04PRICE IS PART OF THE DESIGN

The ceiling is a constraint from the beginning, not a surprise after the sample is finished.
